Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is an organization affiliated with churches of Christ whose main mission is to develop young men
and women into Christian leaders. It involves training in areas from Christian service, to Bible knowledge, to leadership skills.

Our Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes program here at Portland began in 2001 with 6 young people and several adults involved.
Since that time, our program has grown to over 60 young people and 60 adults being involved every year. We are involved
in approximately 20 different events that allow our young people to develop and use their individual talents and abilities in
service to God. Each spring, we attend the Nashville Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes convention at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel
for an enjoyable weekend of fellowship and competition with over 10,000 other Christians.

This program has been a great tool here at Portland in training our young people to be leaders. We have seen amazing
growth in their knowledge, skills, and maturity as Christians through the efforts of the many adults who work with them
in this program. It has also drawn us closer together as a congregation and made all of us stronger in our devotion and
service to the Lord.
