Tennessee Children's Home PDF Print E-mail

Beginning in 1909 Tennessee Orphan's Home was established in Columbia, Tennessee with 3 children and committed to faith, hope, and love. Supported by churches of Christ, since then they have cared for and loved over 16,000 children. In 1982 the name was changed to Tennessee Children's Home where it replaced institutional approach with family oriented group homes, where each child could be a member of a "real family" and would feel the Christian love. They currently have four facilities in Tennessee of which they operate out of, one in Spring Hill, Knoxville, Pinson, and Ashland City, where they offer a number of services from adoption programs to mentoring programs. In addition to taken in orphaned children they also care for abused, neglected, abandoned, wayward children and their families in a Christian manner.

The Portland Church of Christ currently helps support the Spring Hill and Ashland City campuses each month. Equipped with biblical values, guided by Christian like compassion, empowered by faith, and committed to excellence is why this organization has stood as long as it has. That's why the Portland congregation is proud and uplifted by the work they do.
