Originally from Tennessee Mark White has been doing work in South Brazil since August of 2005. Along with his wife Ju and his two daughters Barbara and Deborah, they are fired up with the word of God and work diligently to carry out his message in South Brazil. Under the direction of Daingerfield Church of Christ in Texas and with the support of other churches, Mark's works has encouraged several Brazilians to come to Christ and be baptized.

They have been working in the city of Viamao, a suburb of Porto Alegre, for the past three years and the church has developed ministries and leadership and is now under the care of the Brazilians. They are now planting a new congregation in another part of Porto Alegre where they pray the Lord will raise up more leaders for the congregation as well as winning more souls to Christ. They are also in the process of finding a new building to meet in to accommodate the growing number of people coming to Christ. Mark has also traveled to other areas in Brazil to speak at youth retreats and other functions.

The Portland Church of Christ is very proud of Mark and his family and the work they have accomplished and are excited for what's to come in the future. Mark has traveled back to the states several times and has come to visit our congregation each time and gives us updated reports of his work. We pray that they may have the wisdom in all they do and that the Lord's will be in the forefront of all their decisions.
